About Dave

Mediation is a fantastic opportunity to resolve your disputes and cases. Mediation involves meeting with your mediator, discussing possible options, and drafting up an agreement–on the same day.

Dave is now Harvard-trained in mediation and negotiations. Dave graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1992, followed by a JD in law also at Brigham Young University in 2000. He received his mediation certificate in 2001. He is fluent in Spanish.

Years of experience make Dave a valuable resource as a court-certified divorce mediator for settling cases before clients spend thousands, and tens of thousands, of dollars in litigation costs. Dave has mediated hundreds of cases. He finds deep satisfaction through mediation in helping parties solve their divorce and other domestic cases outside of the courtroom whenever possible.

Dave served on the Board of Directors (including as its president) for Utah Dispute Resolution which provides training and other services to Utah mediators and the community. Previously and for many years, he served as a member of the Divorce Procedures Judicial Subcommittee assisting on crafting solutions for rules of procedures and solving divorce and domestic procedural and legal issues.

For almost 25 years, thousands of clients have trusted Dave to help them with their divorce and family law cases. He has focused his practice primarily on family law matters including, divorce, custody, adoption, child support, alimony, and property division. Before limiting his practice solely to mediations, he was a tenacious family law litigator with vast courtroom experience and with a deep knowledge of the law. Although born and raised in Southern California, Dave has been a resident of Utah Valley for nearly thirty years and is closely tied to serving those in his community.
